VETERAN FLY CASTING COMPETITION
Presented by Rifles to Rods & the American Museum of Fly Fishing!
WHEN: Saturday, August 10th 11am-12:00pm
LOCATION: American Museum of Fly-Fishing, 4070 Main Street, Manchester, VT
COMPETITION DETAILS: Participants must be a veteran. A bamboo fly rod will be provided. Each participant gets 10
casts at any choice of 3 targets: Target 1 = 1 point / Target 2 =
2 points / Target 3 = 3 points. Participants can cast at will at
any target in any sequence with unlimited false casts. Yarn
'fly' must land fully inside target to be awarded points.
Participants cannot move the 'fly' once it has hit the ground.
New this year - first and second place will receive AMFF medals! Note: Participants are allowed to compete in both the veteran and open class. Winner of the open class will receive an Orvis Helios 3F 905-4 5wt 4piece rod.
OTHER: This event is part of the Annual Fly-Fishing Festival featuring a unique collection of vendors, including painters, appraisers, industry artisans and professionals, and other angling-related nonprofits. This festival takes place next to the @orvis flagship store. Participants are encouraged to make a day out of this event as there will be lots to explore.
Be sure to stop by the Rifles to Rods booth! The festival starts at 10am and ends at 4pm. After the festival, you are invited to go fly-fishing with the Rifles to Rods team from
4:30pm-7:30pm followed by a complimentary dinner. Fly-fishing gear will be available upon request.
